This workshop is geared for young adult pre-professionals (thirteen years and up) to adult professional theatre performers who view themselves as more of a “mover “ than a dancer.
In this workshop students will approach dance and learning movement from an actor’s and / or a musician’s point of view. You’ll learn standard theatre jazz dance vocabulary and technique, along with building the strength and confidence needed for your next upcoming audition/dance call.
Workshop fees include drop-in classes.

Drop-in Classes
Beginner &
Int / Adv
Drop-In classes are OPEN to ALL students.
Register early to ensure your spot.
All Drop-In classes are included in the Technique & Combos Workshop Package.
Class begins with a standard jazz dance warm-up which includes dynamic stretches, isolations, along with several yoga and pilates movements and exercises (35 - 45 minutes).
After warm-up students will begin learning a combination that will put your performance (intention, character and musicality) and technical abilities to the test (55 - 45 minutes).
Drop-In classes are a great way to practice one’s pick-up skills that are needed to ensure a more successful and positive dance call / audition experience.
The Workshop Classes
Versus
Drop-Ins
Workshop Classes are different than drop-in classes! In these workshops more time will be dedicated to explain, learn and practice exercises that are crucial for building strength and technique. Also, over the course of the three weeks, workshop students will learn one dance combination. This way you’ll have the opportunity to refine the dance you’re learning, employing all the skills and drills from class.
What is
THEATRE DANCE?
The emphasis of THEATRE DANCE is to TELL A STORY. All the movement and choreography taught will be based off the characters featured in a scene and the intention of the scene. It is the perfect dance class to delve into an array of styles, along with exploring character and emotional physicality, all of which will directly reflect and highlight the music and storyline presented in class.
